COLTS-BROWNS

Colts top Browns for 5th straight win
CLEVELAND
Colts defensive end Robert Mathis scooped up Derek Anderson's fumble and rumbled 39 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Colts won an ugly 10-6 decision over the Cleveland Browns yesterday.

Indianapolis stayed in the thick of the AFC playoff chase with their fifth straight win. Mathis' big play helped bail out Peyton Manning and Indy's high-octane offense, which failed to score a TD.

The Browns lost their fourth straight at home and may have lost quarterback Derek Anderson and tight end Kellen Winslow for an extended period.

Winslow went out on the first play of the third quarter with an ankle injury. Anderson injured his left leg in the final two minutes. Third stringer Ken Dorsey came in for the final three plays and was intercepted on the Browns' last snap.

RAVENS-BENGALS

Clayton leads Ravens over Bengals 34-3
CINCINNATI
Receiver Mark Clayton threw a touchdown pass on a reverse, then made a spectacular one-handed catch for a 70-yard score yesterday to help the Ravens beat the Bengals 34-3 yesterday.

Baltimore have won six of their past seven games with a renowned defense and an offense coming into its own behind rookie quarterback Joe Flacco.

The Bengals tied their club record with 11 punts and managed only six first downs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick filled in for the injured Carson Palmer for the seventh straight game, but was ineffective.

The few thousand fans left in the stands cheered when third-string quarterback Jordan Palmer came in during the closing minutes, then booed when his first pass was intercepted by Jim Leonhard and returned 36 yards for a touchdown.

T25-COLLEGE FB POLL

No. 1 Tide vs. No. 2 Gators for SEC title
NEW YORK
To earn a national championship, Alabama or Florida will have to win two games matching No. 1 vs. No. 2.

The top-ranked Crimson Tide and second-ranked Gators held their spots in the AP Top 25 yesterday, setting up the 40th game matching the highest ranked teams in the AP Top 25.

Alabama and Florida will play Saturday at the Georgia Dome in the Southeastern Conference title game. The winner is virtually guaranteed a spot in the BCS national championship game in Miami on January 8th.

Ohio State, whose regular season is over, is No. 10 in the latest poll. The Buckeyes are also tenth in the latest BCS ranking out yesterday.

Cincinnati is 13th in the BCS and in the AP poll. The Bearcats are headed to a BCS bowl -- likely the Orange or Sugar -- for the first time in their history.

BROWNS-WINSLOW INJURED

Browns' Winslow hurts ankle
CLEVELAND
Browns tight end Kellen Winslow, already playing with a sprained right shoulder, left yesterday's game against Indianapolis with an injured ankle.

Winslow was hurt on the first play of the second half while blocking on a running play. He was helped to his feet but walked to the sideline without assistance and was taken to the locker room for X-rays.

The Browns said Winslow's return was questionable.

Winslow has had injury problems throughout his five-year career. He broke his leg in his second game as a rookie and then missed the entire 2005 season after sustaining a serious knee injury in a motorcycle accident. Winslow has undergone at least four operations on his knee, which developed a staph infection while he was recovering.

Winslow hurt his shoulder on November 17th at Buffalo.
