A Jackson County accident snarls traffic on I-77 and sends several people to the hospital with serious injuries.
It all happened around 11:00 this morning. Troopers say, while traveling north on I-77 the vehicle drifted into the median. The driver overcompensated to get back on the road, flipping the van at least once.
5 victims were sent to the hospital. Some of them were special needs senior citizens.
The accident closed the northbound lanes of I-77 for about an hour.
Those stuck in traffic said they were thankful the accident wasn't worse.
Troopers say the van belongs to ResCare, an agency which helps people with disabilities and special needs.
