The Kanawha City KMart had to do a double take on Thanksgiving morning to make sure it wasn't Black Friday yet.
Worker, Diana Green, says "This morning it was just absolutely busy. It was crazy busy."
Assistant Manager, Brian Rosewell, says, "We probably had 150 or 200 people flow through the doors within the first ten or fifteen minutes."
Even though Friday is typically the day when the crowd comes out, Rosewell says some like to get their foot in the door a little earlier.
Rosewell says, "Some of them want to beat the crowd and some of them they like getting out there in the trenches on Black Friday and find the bargains."
Some say they like to do their shopping on Thanksgiving day so they don't have to fight the crowds on Black Friday and they can move around the aisles a little more freely.
After the initial rush, things toned down a little, and that's when Lewis Prather decided to shop with his family.
Prather says, "Tomorrow will be terrible. We're not going out tomorrow. We don't get in the big crowds."
But KMart workers say they hope things go just as smoothly on Friday.
Green says, "Everybody was really nice this morning. On their best behavior. It's Thanksgiving. I hope it's like that tomorrow."
KMart will open their doors on Black Friday at 6 AM.
