MINE ACCIDENT Accident Sends One Miner To The Hospital

The director of West Virginia's Mine Health, Safety and Training says the accident happened in Sylvester in Boone County at the Elk Run facility.
Ron Wooten says early details are sketchy, but the incident involved a contractor at the prep plant. The man was replacing filtering screens when one of them struck him in the chest.
He was flown by helicopter to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment. This is video of the chopper arriving and the injured man being wheeled in for treatment.
We don't know his name of the extent of his injuries.
The Elk Run Prep Plant has been idled for routine maintenance.
