Loud voices, hand-made signs and pictures are all this group of protesters need to glorify a life that they say was wrongly taken from them.
"He was a great father," Tracy Burdine said. "He was a great grandfather."
"He was not only my father, but he was my best friend," Leighann Blake said.
Blake's father Paul was killed back in April after 23 year old Charles Woods hit him with his car, backed up, then ran over him again.
Woods is facing a negligent homicide charge for the crime, but Blake's family say it's not enough.
"If it wasn't for him, my dad would still be here to this day," Leighann said. "I would be able to spend time with my dad, ask him how he's doing. Now I can't even do that, I have to go talk to my dad's headstone."
Friends and family of Blake took their protest to the streets Saturday afternoon, trying to let their voices be heard, in hopes of giving Woods a more harsh punishment.
"The last memory I have of my dad is him laying in that hospital bed looking as bad as he did because of what this man did to him," Leighann said.
Woods next appearance in court is September 5. Protesters say they will be at the courthouse to protest.
