State Police rushed to the crime scene on Upper Big Creek Road just after 8:00 am Friday morning.
Police say Stevie Linville's uncle, Steve Willis, was walking up the road when Linville and his brother-in-law Ronnie Wade were driving on their way to work.
Police believe there was a confrontation, and that's when Willis shot both men with a .38 pistol.
"I got up out of bed and I looked out my window because I heard Alisha crying and screaming," Wade's wife Christina said. "I saw my husband laying on the ground. I asked what happened and they told me Ronnie's been shot."
Wade was life-flighted to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington where he is listed in stable condition. Linville was pronounced dead at the scene.
"I'm totally shocked," Wade said. "It's crazy."
Wade says a family feud had been boiling for some time. Apparently Willis wanted his nephew and family to move out of the trailer on land he owned.
"He told Stevie and Alisha that he was going to take the deed and give them the two acres that the trailers are on," Wade said. "A couple weeks later, he said they couldn't have it and that's when the racket all started."
