Both Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney are nominated, along with pop singer Chris Brown. Carrie Underwood is representing country in the favorite female singer category. And Rascal Flatts is up for favorite group. Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and nearly 30 other celebrities are all nominated in the favorite-star-35-and-under category. The show airs on CBS at 9 p.m. Eastern.
Country Music World Rascal Flatts are planning to make a special announcement on the People's Choice Awards tonight, although, they're not saying what it's about. They're also performing on the show. It airs on CBS at 9 p.m. Eastern. In addition to that, the band are getting ready to reveal the name and release date of their upcoming album. They've posted a video message on their Web site, asking fans to text "NewRFcd" to 66937 to get an official text with the details. Judge Seals All Future Documents In Eddy Arnold Paternity Case NASHVILLE, Tenn. The public is going to have to wait a while to find out if a California man is Eddy Arnold's illegitimate son. A judge in Tennessee is sealing all future court documents that have to do with Christopher Tanner's paternity claim. Even though Arnold died last year at the age of 89, Tanner wants the court to establish Arnold as his biological father. He's asking for a DNA test on Arnold's remains. Carrie Underwood: Romance In Canada? Country Music World Carrie Underwood tends to keep her private life out of the public eye. But she couldn't avoid the spotlight this weekend when she was caught on a scoreboard "Hug Cam" at a hockey game in Canada. She was hugging family members of Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher in a luxury box. GACTV.com says Underwood was seen getting pedicures with Fisher's sister a few days earlier. One of Fisher's friends tells The Ottawa Citizen "they're a perfect match." Fisher declines to comment on his personal life. Lady Antebellum To Perform New Single NASHVILLE, Tenn. Look for Lady Antebellum on TV tomorrow night. They're performing their upcoming single, "I Run To You," on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." The single will be available to radio stations early next week. might be wearing a sling on his arm. He had shoulder surgery this week to repair a torn rotator cuff and remove the bone spurs that caused it. He writes on his MySpace page that he won't be canceling any shows, but he "could be in a sling for a few." Otto looks for a speedy recovery although he says he'll need weeks of physical therapy. He says there are "lots of exciting things this year," like his two Grammy nominations, and he says he needs "to be at full strength to accomplish them all." His next show is scheduled for Jan. 21 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Keith Urban Plans 58-City Tour Country Music World Keith Urban is planning a 58-city tour this summer, starting in May. He'll be joined by at least one opening act per show, including Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bently, Glen Campbell or The Zac Brown Band. A full list of cities is up on his Web site, but no specific dates have been announced yet. His currently untitled album is set for release March 31st. Cledus T. Judd Releases Brad Paisley Parody NASHVILLE, Tenn. Comedian Cledus T. Judd is out with a new single, called "Waitin' On Obama." It's a parody of Brad Paisley's song, "Waitin' On A Woman." Judd has shot a music video to go along with it, too. And that will be released Jan. 20, Inauguration Day. Country Fans To Get Cheaper Downloads SAN FRANCISCO Tracks from top country artists could soon cost less to download from iTunes. Apple says it plans to cut the price of some songs on iTunes to as little as 69 cents per single. A company spokesman says iTunes songs will switch to three pricing tiers: 69 cents, 99 cents and $1.29. Record companies will choose the prices. Apple is also getting rid of the technology that limits the amount of times a song can be copied once it's purchased.
