Pulpwood Queen Cocktail Recipes
From Kathy Patrick, Pulpwood Queens Book Club
Kathy Patrick started the Pulpwood Queens book club at Beauty and the Book, her beauty salon in Jefferson, Texas. The club's motto: The higher the hair, the closer to God. It's a house rule that members wear tiaras and leopard prints, and leave their diets at the door. Here are some of the club's favorite summertime recipes, straight from Patrick's recipe file.

The Pulpwood Queen Married With Children Driving a DAMN Mini-Van Stressbuster
The Pulpwood Queen Married With Children Driving a DAMN Mini-Van Stressbuster was created by Kathy Patrick, founder of the Pulpwood Queens, during one of motherhood's more trying moments.
Ingredients
1 carton of Blue Bell Cookies and Cream or Cookie Dough Ice Cream (must be Blue Bell and highly recommend to use both kinds)
1 bottle of W.L.Weller Special Reserve (Kentucky burbon)
1 handheld mixer
Straw
Directions:
1. Scoop out the middle of a Blue Bell Ice Cream container and fill bowls for the kiddos. Send kids outside to eat it.
2. Fill the hollow with Weller's Special Reserve, plug-in handheld mixer and blend till creamy.
3. Stick a straw in the container, grab a good book, and collapse into your favorite reading spot. Open book, sip and enjoy.
(Kathy's note: Stress will immediately lift, a guaranteed bookl over's special. Will serve 4, but as I lead a very stressful life juggling motherhood, career, and marriage I drink till sated. What's left I freeze till another stress attack occurs. I also recommend exercising regularly for this truly decadent indulgence. Try it, you'll just love our downhome drink!)
The Ruby
