World News This Morning Weekdays at 5:00 a.m. on WCHS-TV8
"World News This Morning" begins the weekday network news schedule with a presentation of the latest news, business, weather, and sports reports. The program, anchored by Juju Chang, is broadcast from 5:00-5:30 a.m., on WCHS-TV8, and updated for time zones across America. It is divided into timed segments allowing ABC affiliates to integrate their news coverage into network coverage during the early morning hours."World News This Morning's" flexible format accommodates breaking stories from overnight as well as news occurring during the broadcast itself. Network correspondents have reported live from the bomb attack at the Olympic Games in Atlanta; from the search and investigation into the airline crash in the ocean off New York; from the funeral of murdered Israeli leader Yitzhak Rabin; from war-torn Bosnia and the refugee camps of Zaire; and the economic summits in Canada and Italy. "World News This Morning" has distinguished itself over the past decade with up-to-the-minute coverage of historic developments during the Gulf War, the fall of communism in Russia, the brutal attack in Tiananmen Square, a major earthquake in San Francisco, and the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City. "World News This Morning" -- "Morning Business Report" is the first comprehensive financial and business news of the day. The broadcast reports on market closings in Asia and market openings in Europe, and on currency and gold prices from around the world. "World News This Morning" premiered July 5, 1982.
