HOT NEWS
Emmy Award-winning actor Roger Howarth will reprise his role as the menacing yet tormented Todd Manning for a one-week stint on the ABC Daytime drama "One Life to Live." Mr. Howarth played the character from 1992-95 and again from 1996-98. His reprise begins airing Friday, Feb. 25

Hillary B. Smith and Robert S. Woods on One Life To Live The time has never been better to tune in to the Agnes Nixon-created daytime drama, "One Life to Live," as the show celebrated 30 years on July 15, 1998. Since its premiere on July 15, 1968, "One Life to Live" has been lauded for its groundbreaking exploration of social issues, award-winning performances and unique storylines.

"One Life to Live" is responsible for many "firsts" in daytime television, including themes of interracial romance and split personalities, as well as problems of literacy, medical misdiagnosis, racial prejudice, lupus, and gang violence. The show received mass critical acclaim for its 1992 homophobia storyline, which captured national headlines when it introduced the character of a gay teen, and culminated with the emotional display of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. In 1994, the show received equally high praise, and garnered four Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Best Writing, for its riveting fraternity gang rape storyline.

This year promises romance and passion as the wily Buchanan family and the aristocratic Lords continue to captivate viewers, as do the Carpenters, Gannons, Vegas, and Llanview's newest clan, the Rappaports.

Erika Slezak and Clint Ritchie on One Life To Live Victoria Buchanan Carpenter (Erika Slezak) has successfully rebuilt her life following her desperate battle with multiple personality disorder. Viki is currently sorting out her feelings for ex-husband Clint Buchanan (Clint Ritchie), with whom she runs the family-owned newspaper, The Banner.

However, Clint's new relationship with Lindsay Rappaport (Catherine Hickland) is sure to complicate his future with Viki. Viki and Clint also have their hands full dealing with teenage daughter Jessica (Erin Torpey) and her first love, Cristian Vega (David Fumero). Jessica is trying to contain her jealousy now that Cristian's childhood friend, Roseanne (Erika Page), has re-entered his life.

Viki's longtime nemesis, Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser), is focusing her attention on building a family dynasty and protectively watches over her daughter, Cassie Carpenter (Laura Koffman), and her two nieces, Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva) and Kelly Cramer (Gina Tognoni). Dorian recently married renowned newspaper man Mel Hayes (Stephen Markle) and their volatile relationship keeps both of them on their toes. Kelly is trying to sort out her feelings for ex-boyfriend Joey Buchanan (Don Jeffcoat), who once broke her heart. Just as their relationship was getting back on track, things were complicated by the return of Joey's cousin, Drew Buchanan (Sam Ball), for whom Kelly has fallen.

Blair must deal with her dangerous ex-husband, Todd Manning (Roger Howarth), as the two share custody of their young daughter, Starr. Blair almost surrendered her heart to Max Holden (James DePaiva), with whom she shares a stormy past, until she learned of his recent deception. Meanwhile, Todd's marriage of convenience to attorney Tea Delgado (Florencia Lozano) took them both by surprise when real feelings began to emerge. However, Todd's manipulations have driven Tea away more times than she can count.

Dorian's daughter, Cassie, a newspaper reporter, made the painful decision to end her marriage to Reverend Andrew Carpenter (Wortham Krimmer) and pursue a relationship with fellow journalist Kevin Buchanan (Timothy Gibbs). Kevin, Clint and Viki's eldest son, an ace reporter for The Banner, was engaged to Cassie until she learned about his night of passion with nurse Barbara Graham (Sonia Satra).

Billionaire oil tycoon Asa Buchanan (Phil Carey) is often at odds with his sons -- Clint, and ex-police commissioner Bo Buchanan (Robert S. Woods) -- but he usually has the support of Renee Buchanan (Patricia Elliott), his ex-wife, with whom he is still romantically involved. Bo is dealing with his own problems, trying to get his marriage to defense attorney Nora Buchanan (Hillary B. Smith) back on track following the murder of Nora's assistant, during which Bo was a prime suspect. Nora's old flame, attorney Sam Rappaport (Kale Browne), has arrived in Llanview and has his own hands full with ex-wife Lindsay and teenage son, Will (Jason-Shane Scott).

Shady RJ Gannon (Timothy D. Stickney) runs a jazz club and continues to share a tumultuous relationship with his brother, District Attorney Hank Gannon (Nathan Purdee). Hank was enjoying the company of Carlotta Vega (Patricia Mauceri), who owns a neighborhood diner, but the twosome have decided to cool their relationship.

With suspense, passion and many surprises, "One Life to Live" continues to present compelling and contemporary drama. But it is the powerful performances from the show's multi-talented cast, including five-time Emmy Award-winning actress Erika Slezak, and Emmy Award-winners Roger Howarth, Hillary B. Smith, Robin Strasser and Robert S. Woods, that keep millions of viewers coming back for more.
