Ms. Marcil originated the role of the beautiful Brenda Barrett in September of 1992 and was the apex of what is considered one of daytime television's hottest love triangles of the 90's. "She was the black sheep of the Barrett family," explains Ms. Marcil of her character. "Chuck (Pratt, co-head writer, 'General Hospital') and I are thrilled that Vanessa is coming back to the show," enthused Bob Guza, co-head writer, "General Hospital," who created the Sonny/Brenda/Jax triangle. "Vanessa's return will have a tremendous emotional impact on both Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and Sonny (Maurice Benard), who have both moved on in life and love," added Pratt.
